About Me

My name is David, and I live in Peoria, Illinois, with my wife of almost three years, Rene', and our 12-year-old French Bulldog, Belle. I have a 20-year-old daughter who lives in Houston, Texas, who is also attending college. I am passionate about pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology because it pertains to my current job field and my future career. I have been in the military 23 years, mostly in the communications field, and plan to retire in the next 3 to 5 years. My career has been focused more on radio communications than computers, and I have a lot to learn. I have a good understanding of Microsoft Office basics, as I use them on a daily basis at work. My goal is to finish my degree before retirement, which, along with my work experience, will help me find a job as a network or systems administrator. I have no experience with programming or web design and possess a basic understanding of how computer systems work. I hope to gain some helpful knowledge from this course to get me started on my path in Information Technology, and learn more about the different types of IT careers available.
